MARCH WEST FOOTBRIDGE

This footbridge, real name 'Lilypond Bridge', aka 'The Burma Bridge', joins Robingoodfellows Lane with Norwood Road and lies at the western end of the Whitemoor Yard access triangle. The station is only about 300 metres east and a footpath leads form the station to the bridge. Especially good because the sun is south of the line all day here and on the inside of the curve. Anything approaching Whitemoor from the east is visible but not easily photographed. Otherwise, everything passes and usually at quite low speed.

18/02/06 - You are probably thinking that I spent a lot of time up here in early 2000 - well, I did. Wisbech Branch trains were already running only intermittently so I turned out as often as I could to see the light engine, which went down the Branch at about 1530. Then, if it was interesting, I would come back at about 6.00 for the train. It was nearly always a 66 but perhaps I should have photographed just the same.
