MANEA STATION

Manea (pronounced May-knee) Station is fabulous. Platforms are just two coaches long. It's train service consists of two trains each way per day. It has a full outfit of semaphores, a signalbox that not only leans but is also twisted, a stranded brakevan in it's down siding, no facilities except a bus shelter on the down platform and a garden shed on the up and hardly any passengers. There are no less than 5 level crossings visible from the station, six if you count the very distant Stonea. Photography from the up platform is possible until about 1130 on a summer day and then from the down. The down platform offers some nice shots. Are people from Manea called Maneacs? Very probably!
